NE and Back!

Home from Nebraska and I am exhausted. Left Friday and came back today, and I have to say I and my parents have some wonderful traveling children/grandchildren. We are so lucky! They were such troopers and we had a great time. We got out to NE at about 7:00 on Friday night, and Addy only had to stop once! We left town about 12:30, so that was a miracle, she ate right before left, at about 4:00 and then when we got to the cabin, what a trooper. We go to the cabins and everyone ate right away because the steaks were on, yummy! So then we unloaded the van, got the kids ready for bed, and Ash went for a run. I called to check on her and Ahhh! She said she was being attacked my bugs, and man was she! She got back to the cabin and had bites ALL over her! Poor girl! So needless to say, even though we were exhausted, we (Ash and I) made a quick 20 minute trip to Wal-Mart at like 10:00 at night to get some much needed relief for her and some necessities. So then we came home and crashed. Addy slept through the night!

Then Saturday, Papa went to his meeting, and Grandma, Ashley, Trenten, Adelyn, Bev (Jake's wife) and I went into Yankton and went to River Day's (cool little festival and looked around), that was fun and hot! So then we went to Pizza Hut for some much needed lunch, and then to Wal-Mart again (only 15 minutes) for a couple of snacks and a few little things, and then back to the cabin because Papa was back from his meeting. So then the kids and I (minus Addy) and Dad/Grandpa (minus Mom/Grandma) went down to the beach on the lake for some fun in the sun and water! We had a blast! We got a $1 ball at Wal-Mart and a $1.50 floaty for Trent and everyone had a blast! That floatie was perfect for Trent, he just swam and jumped and splashed for an hour! Man was he tired! So then we came back to the cabin, everyone took showers and we got ready and went to Murdo's (a restaurant on the river) and had a wonderful dinner! Yummy! We got there at just the right time because we got right in, got our food in no time, and when we were leaving there was over an hour wait for people. So then we went for a small drive, and drove over the dam, Trenten thought that was very cool, and wanted to go back the way we came. So then we drove back to the cabins, but stopped at the Marina and got ice cream for everyone, it was so good! The funny thing was that Ash got the biggest size they had, and we all got little ones, but when it was all said and done, we all had about the same amount because ours were seriously topped off! Sheesh! We were eating fast so nothing melted away... so then it was back to the cabin and got all the little ones off to bed (at 8:00) and none of us were very far behind. Ash, Grandma and Grandpa went for a walk before bed too.

So then it was Sunday already, and we headed home this morning, we left at 8:30 and got here at about 4:30... needless to say it took a little bit longer to get home then it did to get there. Still the kids were troopers, Addy definitely wanted to stop a bit more on the way back, but I don't blame her. She was tired of being in that darn car seat. And we were so excited to see Tory/Dad when we got back. Loved the vacation part, now I just need sleep and my honey, and it is back to life, which I'm so happy to be home, love going away, love coming back even more. Night!
